City of Waxahachie Special Charter Amendment Election
City of Waxahachie, Texas Proposition A
Shall Sections 2.01 and 2.03 of the City Charter be amended to (1) provide that the Mayor shall be elected at large, and (2) repeal the provision that the Mayor serves at the pleasure of the City Council?
City of Waxahachie, Texas Proposition B
Shall Sections 2.01 and 2.06 of the City Charter be amended to provide that (1) members of the City Council shall be elected to 3-year terms, instead of 2-year terms; (2) establish a schedule by which the new 3-year terms shall take effect; and (3) if there is a vacancy on the City Council for an office with a 3-year term, the vacancy must be filled by special election in accordance with the requirements of the Texas Constitution; however, if 12 months or less remain in the unexpired term, the council may appoint an individual to serve the remainder of said term?
